We went down to the point at Trafalgar Park and watched the lightning light up the sky across the Juan de Fuca strait over Washington State’s coast. We even heard the rumble of thunder across the water. Very faint. Quite the show; must have been spectacular over there.
Perhaps I have said this before, but perhaps not. Victoria is, alas, defunct of storms involving lightning and thunder. In the 9 years I have live here, there have been two and were so pitiful they aren’t even worth mentioning. It has to do with the geographical location of the city – mountains (on the island and on the mainland), water and location of island vis a vis the mainland.
