Another year and another Tour de France. The race started yesterday and I watch it this year with mixed feelings. Had the race organizers dealt fairly with an even hand in its form of justice for the doping scandals of the past two years, I would not have a complaint, but to penalize one team and not another, it’s just not right.
After two days, I do find that I am watching one team and one rider a little more closely than others. The team is Team Columbia and the rider is Ryder Hesjedal (Canadian and from Victoria, BC no less) onTeam Garmin-Chipotle.
I’m not so into it this year that I must watch it at 4:30 or 5:30 a.m., but I MUST watch the replay at home in the evenings. Despite what I’ve just said, I must admit that I am already yelling at the television. Some habits die hard.
