the “last” physio appointment

There is something incredibly satisfying and yet sad in saying that yesterday was my last physiotherapy appointment.

I am officially “cut loose” from physio.

  • My shoulder/arm movement is at approximately 90%, which is significantly improved from the 50% max (in some areas) it was at a year ago. We think I’ve finally plateaued.
  • And my lymphedema is still very well managed, but it’s obvious to both of us that I cannot go without the compression sleeve and gauntlet for more than half a day.
This “last” business is incredibly satisfying. It’s been such a long road that to have any appointments drop off the radar is really beyond words.

But it’s a little bit sad too. I have become close with my physiotherapist and will miss seeing her regularly. I have been invited to keep in touch and believe me, I shall.
