You may have noticed that I’ve been posting words and their meanings lately. I’ve got enough to post for (I believe) 52 weeks. These words are untranslateable, which means that they aren’t just blanc et noire (white and black), but instead have a long meaning to them. I will continue to post them until I run out.
The true reason behind this post is the word “calliope.” Do you know what it is/means? I didn’t. But Vince did. Truth be told, I had to ask (1) did he know a word I didn’t? (2) is it possible he has the wrong word? and finally the thought that both of those could apply. With Vince being right about both the word and meaning, I was left a little stunned; Vince knew a word that I did not.
So, what does it mean? And my next post will reveal the answer. In the meantime, WITHOUT looking it up, tell me what you know “calliope” to mean or think it to mean.
